Eating Disorders
Have you ever tried all kinds of diet regimes from the seemingly sensible to the downright outlandish, eventually falling back into old habits? Ever wondered why people who have had bariatric surgery continue to have food issues and can end up over-weight again? Ever wondered why re-feeding programmes for people with anorexia don't work?
There are two reasons why:
Firstly, the problem is unlikely to be just a physiological one and, so often, the underlying psychological issues are not addressed.
Secondly, the diet industry will have you believe that "calories in versus calories out" is effective, when this does not take into consideration the effects some foods have on your metabolic rate.
I have worked closely with a great nutritionist to put together a treatment package that will help you make changes to your eating that is sustainable, as well as looking closely at the reasons behind your problematic eating.
