Family
Watching someone we care about caught up in the grip of an addiction or eating disorder is baffling, anxiety-provoking and heart-breaking. It can significantly affect our quality of life.
Do you find yourself constantly worrying about what your family member is doing? Do you try and control his/her behaviour in a myriad of ways, only to find that it doesn't work?
It is a fine line between trying to support and enabling. Do you worry that you are getting it right? Are you exhausted and feeling hopeless by the situation?
If you answer yes to any of these questions, you may need some support.
I offer therapy specifically aimed at helping you understand the nature of the problem and will give you strategies in how to support your family member, whilst looking after yourself, which will help to reduce your anxieties.
